Richard Appiah-Oppong is an infrastructure-development, real-estate and project-management professional with more than 35 years of experience in project planning, feasibility assessment, development management, construction economics and project delivery across Ghana, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and several African markets. His experience spans hospitals, hotels, residential developments, marine and logistics facilities, waterfronts, new-city concepts and special economic zones.

Trained as a quantity surveyor and building technologist, he integrates commercial and technical appraisal with concept development, cost planning, design coordination, financing strategy, stakeholder engagement and implementation oversight. At BPDL he leads infrastructure development and project-management assignments and provides senior input to options analysis, feasibility and investment appraisal, development budgeting, procurement planning, construction scheduling, risk management and delivery strategy.

He began his career as a Quantity Surveyor with G. A. Takyi and Partners in Kumasi. In the United Kingdom he worked with Metropolitan Housing Trust and Peabody Trust as Project Manager and Principal Development Manager, before joining Limitless LLC in the United Arab Emirates as a Development Manager, with assignments based in Dubai, Cairo and Addis Ababa and exposure to projects in Senegal, Equatorial Guinea and Eritrea.

In Ghana he served as Managing Director of Soroma Capital, overseeing a 71-unit high-end residential complex in Accra, and led concept development, design and first-phase implementation of Medina Residence in Diamniadio, Dakar, comprising 624 apartments and 124 villas. He was Project Manager for Tullow Oil's Marine Office Expansion in Takoradi and Executive Director for Business Development at KRON Capital Limited. He also undertook the feasibility study for the Kpone Inland Container Depot for the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority — supported by the Canadian Cooperation Council, financed by Standard Chartered Bank and since constructed.
