Emily Akumah

Emily Akumah is an occupational health and safety professional with experience integrating safe-work requirements and social-protection considerations into project delivery. She has supported health and safety management on Ghana's District Hospital Project and oversees BPDL's health and safety function.

Her responsibilities include embedding HSE requirements in day-to-day project activities, building the capacity of local contractors through training, coordinating with project teams and government regulatory agencies, and advising contractor and project-management personnel on safe operations, contract administration and bidding processes.

Before joining BPDL she worked independently as a health and safety trainer, helping organisations in manufacturing, automotive and general services incorporate HSE into business processes. Her international experience includes work with MacGregor Pusnes AS in Arendal, Norway, and Alsen Day Care in London.
